Mission Statement:

“Caring people providing volunteer and community services so elders can live in the comfort of their home and community.”

Our Program:

We are a grass roots, volunteer based, neighbors-helping-neighbors program that serves elders who are 65 and older who live within a 12 mile radius of Enderlin, North Dakota.

Services:

The services we provide to the members of our community include transportation to and around Fargo, Valley City, Lisbon, Enderlin, and Sheldon North Dakota for appointments, shopping, errands, beauty shop, church and church related events. HEART also arranges for phone friends, friendly visitations, light household chores, lawn clean-up, raking leaves, simple household repairs, written communication, snow removal and baking/cooking for those who are unable.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Transportation (short and long distance), Friendly phone calls and visits, small house hold chores/repairs, folding newsletters, office assistance and light house cleaning, written communication, snow remoal, raking and baking/cooking.

Accomplishments:

All services are free to all program participants and there is no financial need qualification. The HEART program is completely supported finacialy from contributions, donation, memorials and grants from foundations and corporations. We have over 20 different organizations, service groups and service providers we coordinate with on a daily basis and our volunteer base ranges from pre-schoolers to volunteers in their late 90’s. We have over 10% of our service area population serving as volunteers for our program. HEART is an example of: “People support what they help to create.”
